Growing up in the Pacific Northwest has given me a love and appreciation for the forest. A good chunk of my childhood was spent wandering the nearby woods. Whether that time was spent splashing in the creek or collecting various sticks and leaves to show my family, I look back on those memories fondly. There is something about all of the intricate communities coming together to form a functional ecosystem that really inspires me as a creative. It’s only natural that I would end up illustrating a forest one day. This was a really fun piece to work on and was a nice distraction from the tedious typesetting that generally occupies my time.
